Barry Lewis, BA (Cambridge), PhD (Sunderland), joined the University of Sunderland in 1988 as a postgraduate and visiting lecturer. He was lecturer at the University of Newcastle from 1992-93, and Senior Lecturer at the University of Trondheim and Stavanger College in Norway between 1993-95. He returned to Sunderland as a Senior Lecturer in 1995. He is a specialist in contemporary British and American fiction. Other interests include literary theory and history. He has published a volume on Kazuo Ishiguro for the Manchester University Press Contemporary World Writers Series (2000), and is currently working on two projects: a book for the University of South Carolina Press on Peter Ackroyd, and a study of Lawrence Norfolk for publishers Peter Lang. |
